Description
L’Esprit de Courvoisier is one of the most exclusive and popular cognacs in the world. The noble drink is made from an assembly of the best cognac spirits in the last 200 years, the youngest of which dates back to 1930, and the oldest is preserved from the time of the Napoleonic era. Cognac is presented in a prestigious, unique handmade crystal decanter, made under the Lalique brand and which is a real work of art. Since its introduction on the market in 2008, cognac has managed to win the love of true connoisseurs of this drink around the world, and experts say that L’Esprit de Courvoisier is the greatest cognac ever produced.
The history of the Courvoisier brand dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, when Emmanuel Courvoisier and his partner Louis Gallois set up a trading company and warehouses with alcoholic beverages. It was them, according to legend, that Napoleon visited and bought several barrels of cognac for his army. In 1828, the sons of the founders – Felix Courvoisier and Jules Gallois – decide to leave the trade and only engage in the production of high-quality cognac. Their project was a tremendous success, and the creators won fame for the producers of the most exquisite cognac. In 1909, the company was acquired by the English Simon family, which saw the great potential of the Courvoisier brand. It was thanks to the Simons that the famous logo with the silhouette of Napoleon appeared, and the cognac itself became famous far beyond France. In 1964, the Canadian company Hiram Walker acquired the brand and significantly expanded the market, increasing international sales by several times. Today, the Courvoisier brand is owned by Beam Inc, and the production is based in the city of Jarnac in the Charente department. For more than two centuries, the company’s master blenders have skillfully combined ancient traditions and innovations to create an exclusive cognac, known and valued today all over the world.
